My name is Kerrie Mansell.
I have owned Lhasa Apsos since the beginning of the 1980s . Since those early days, I have shown and bred the occasional litter under my Kailasa prefix. I first embarked on this long and all encompassing relationship with this breed through my love of Tibet, its culture and people. So, it has always been my aim to show and perpetuate dogs close to the original breed type. I am not interested to produce lots of show dogs but have been very happy that from selected breeding I have bred a number of Australian Champions, Grand Champions and also a Supreme Champion. Several of my dogs have also represented the group in invitational top dog competitions, proving that you do not have to compromise the breed standard to have successful Lhasa Apsos These days I still work full time in the field of education, write for a national dog magazine, have dog club committee involvement as President of the Non Sporting Dog Club, secretary of the West Australian Kennel Club and the Oriental Breeds Society. I am an ANKC judge for three of our groups including the Non Sporting group where our Lhasa Apso can be found and am licensed to judge all Tibetan breeds. I am thankful for the enjoyment that our canine world has given me and also serve time on the Show Judges Training Committee in our state where I am convenor for the Non Sporting group, assisting training judges in their education.
